Don’t worry, these links won’t cost you a dime – they’re just little crafty helpers behind the scenes that help support me if you use them to make a purchase! Let’s dive into today’s creative journey together!

Hello, ocean lovers! Justin Adkins here, and, today, I am sharing a sweet underwater creation using the new A Sea Turtles Journey stamp set & coordinating dies! I paired this set with the new Swanky Sentiments: Salutations stamp set and their coordinating dies, along with the Ocean Waves 6" x 8" stencil!

Below is a complete list of Picket Fence Studios Products that I used to put this card together:

A Sea Turtles Journey Stamp Set
A Sea Turtles Journey Coordinating Dies
Swanky Sentiments: Salutations Stamp Set
Swanky Sentiments: Salutations Coordinating Dies
Ocean Waves Stencil
Paper Glaze Glass: Sea Glass Blue
Island Blues Sequin Mix
Liquid Turquoise Blue Paper Splatter Watercolor

This card was fun and easy to put together, so let's get into the details!

When working with any sort of mixed media gels or pastes, I like to work with them first so I can give them time to dry! So I worked on my background first for this project. I trimmed down a panel of aqua cardstock to 4.125" x 5.375" and used Uncharted Mariner & Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Inks to blend from the bottom of the card, upwards, creating a nice underwater ombre effect.

I then splattered my panel with water to get bleach marks. Once that portion was dry, I placed my Ocean Waves stencil over the panel and blended over that with Uncharted Mariner & Peacock Feathers Distress Ink so that it would be a bit darker than the Oxide Ink underneath. I splattered the panel again, this time with Liquid Turquoise Blue Paper Splatter Water Color.

Once that portion was dry, I sprayed some low-tack adhesive to the back of my Ocean Waves stencil, slightly offset the stencil so that the design didn't fully overlap, and applied a solid layer of Paper Glaze Glass: Sea Glass Blue. I removed my stencil, set my panel aside to dry, and immediately went to wash my stencil.

As my panel was drying, I stamped out (3) turtle images from A Sea Turtles Journey and colored them with my Copic Markers. I used the coordinating dies to cut the images out and set them aside.

Using the same color cardstock as my background, I stamped the "hi" sentiment from the Swanky Sentiments: Salutations stamp set in embossing ink and heat embossed the sentiment with white powder. I used the coordinating dies to cut the sentiment out, and then blended the bottom portion of the die cut with Uncharted Mariner Distress Ink.

When my background panel was dry, I adhered it to an A2-sized card base. I then used foam tape to adhere my turtles and my sentiment to my card. I finished my card off by adhering a couple sequins from the Island Blues Sequin Mix and my card was finished!
